Perform nuclear medicine exams both routine and specialized safely and proficiently. Apply general ALARA concepts to maintain patient safety and possess basic anatomical and physiological knowledge to provide nuclear medicine studies. Exhibit proficient knowledge in the technical aspects of diagnostic nuclear medicine and applications in therapeutic nuclear medicine. Maintain knowledge of radioactive material license and Texas rules and regulations governing the utilization of radiopharmaceuticals. Must order, receive, store, handle, inject and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals appropriately and within RAM guidelines. Must have knowledge in the utilization of nuclear medicine equipment and current software. Complete all PACS/RIS/nuclear medicine computer data entry timely and accurately. Maintain wipe surveys, daily and quarterly quality control, and assist physicist and inspectors in surveys as required.
Required Education and Experience Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and have advanced training from an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Program Required License/Certifications Current certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 90 days Current certification from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Must be licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) Basic Life Support certification (BLS) within 90 days
