Assess patients spanning pediatric to geriatric groups using standardized tests and observation techniques. Create individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate goals and the long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Deliver personalized speech therapy designed for focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing needs. Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge comprehensive care strategies. Provide education to patients and their families to bolster progress outside of therapy sessions. Occasionally engage in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure uninterrupted care throughout the treatment path. Maintain precise and timely records in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards. Continue to grow in your field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained. Certifications
Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting the position. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies for individuals across all ages, demonstrating a strong grasp of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders. Outstanding interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Flexibility in adapting therapeutic techniques to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical judgement and problem-solving capabilities.
