Responsibilities
Assess patients across various age groups through standardized evaluations and direct observation. Create customized treatment plans targeting immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals. Deliver focused speech therapy sessions emphasizing fluency, language, voice, and swallowing skills. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure optimal care. Educate patients and families to foster progress in between sessions. Occasionally provide inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, maintaining a seamless continuum of care. Maintain precise and timely documentation consistent with regulatory standards. Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate with peers to stay abreast of advancements in the field. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified. Certifications
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required within the first month of employment. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based practices for treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders across all ages. Strong verbal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Adeptness in adapting therapy to meet the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of clients. Sound clinical judgment with problem-solving skills.
