Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring patient history aligns with the procedure and documentation is accurate. Prepare and instruct patients to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety. Operate radiography equipment and accessories skillfully to complete procedures. Position patients to best display the anatomical area of interest, respecting their comfort and abilities. Immobilize patients when necessary for accurate examinations. Determine appropriate radiographic exposure factors and apply radiation protection principles to safeguard patients, self, and others. Evaluate image quality and ensure proper identification is recorded. Attend to patients' physical and psychological needs throughout procedures. Practice aseptic techniques as required and perform venipunctures when needed. Prepare, identify, and administer contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioners. Assist licensed practitioners with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures, including non-interpretive fluoroscopy. May perform catheter anchoring and initiate basic life support when necessary. Educate patients by explaining tests and procedures clearly. Maintain assigned areas, report equipment issues, and manage supplies efficiently. Provide practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals. Participate actively in quality assessment and improvement initiatives. Adhere to all relevant standards and policies, including on-call duties as required. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Computer proficiency is essential. Licensure and Certifications:
Must hold state certification for radiologic technologists. Graduate from an accredited radiography program with an active student license at start date. Registry eligible and must obtain ARRT R.T.(R) certification within six months of hire.
This position operates on the 2nd shift and is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest United States. The role may require participation in on-call rotations to provide technical support or shift coverage as needed.
