Position Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for analyzing membership data and delivering insights that support strategic decision-making. This role helps the organization improve member acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue by transforming data into actionable recommendations. Duties may include:

  • Maintaining and updating existing dashboards and reports in Tableau, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness
  • Generating standard recurring reports for internal stakeholders, including KPI summaries, trend reports, and performance metrics
  • Performing data quality checks and troubleshooting reporting issues, escalating complex problems to senior team members
  • Documenting reporting processes and creating user guides for self-service dashboards
  • Responding to ad-hoc data requests from stakeholders with quick turnaround
  • Assisting in consolidating and standardizing membership metrics across different reporting systems
  • Conducting exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in membership data
  • Supporting analytical projects by gathering data, performing calculations, and creating summary statistics
  • Assisting with member segmentation analysis and cohort reporting
  • Preparing data extracts and performing basic data manipulation using SQL queries
  • Creating visualizations and charts to communicate findings to business stakeholders
  • Support A/B test analysis by compiling results and calculating key metrics
  • Partnering with Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to understand their data needs and provide reporting support
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas for improving reporting processes
  • Communicating data findings clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Working collaboratively with IT and data engineering teams to resolve data issues
  • Developing proficiency in business intelligence tools, including Tableau, SQL, and Excel
  • Building understanding of membership business metrics, including retention, churn, lifetime value, and acquisition costs
  • Learning analytical methodologies and statistical concepts through hands-on project work
  • Participating in training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities with team members
  • Staying current on data visualization best practices and dashboard design principles

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, a related quantitative field, or related experience.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data analysis, or related roles

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic proficiency with SQL for querying databases and extracting data
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau preferred, Power BI, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic formulas
  • Basic understanding of database concepts and data structures
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Basic understanding of statistical concepts (mean, median, percentiles, distributions)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professional demeanor and reliability
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong quantitative and analytical thinking abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or academic project experience with data analysis strongly preferred
  • Coursework or projects involving statistical analysis or data visualization
  • Exposure to Python or R for data analysis
  • Familiarity with business concepts such as marketing, finance, or operations
  • Previous experience in customer-facing businesses or subscription models
  • Tableau Desktop Specialist certification or willingness to obtain
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related discipline)
  • 2+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
  • Experience supporting ad hoc data requests in a fast-paced business environment
  • Experience documenting data sources, definitions, and reporting processes to support transparency and scalability
  • Strong understanding of data quality concepts and experience in identifying and resolving data discrepancies
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to translate questions into data requirements

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in the office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come into an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities. Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or team-building events. Works in a temperature-controlled office environment. Travel throughout state/out-of-state, including various ACG clubs and field locations, with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes.
