divh2Medical Assistant Position/h2pCancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Medical Assistant for our busy Ascension Clay Office. The Medical Assistant assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a medical environment that may include medical oncology, radiation oncology, diagnostic imaging, or BMT. Maintains efficient patient flow, assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education. Performs miscellaneous clinic support tasks including filing, answering phones and maintaining physicians schedule. Support and adheres to Cancer Specialists of North Floridas Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:/pulliEscorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate./liliRecords patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes./liliObtains all necessary patient records as required by physician and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures./liliPrepares and stock exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed./liliAssists physicians with exams and procedures as requested./liliAssists with delegated patient education activities including but not limited to distributing education literature, etc./liliObtains blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions./liliAdministers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, including but not limited to, hormones and biological growth factors./liliMaintains all exams/treatment room disinfection protocols. Processes instruments and equipment as needed./liliPhones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN./liliSchedules patient tests, procedures and hospital admission and schedules appointments to follow-up on test, results, as applicable. Arranges for pre-authorization and pre-certifications as needed. Informs physician of patient reschedules and no shows./liliObtains new patient records and previous test results x-rays, scans, etc./liliPerforms other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing, reception, etc, as requested by supervisor or physician./liliDisplay excellent verbal and written communication skills./liliAll other duties as assigned/li/ulpFull time position/ppLocation Address: 1658 St. Vincents Way, #230, Middleburg, FL 32068/ppEducation and/or Experience:/pulliHigh School graduate or equivalent./liliCertificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred./liliThis is an entry-level position requiring 0-3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting./li/ulpCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:/pulliCurrent CPR certification required./liliCertified Medical Assistant preferred./li/ulpCompensation and Benefits:/pulliSalary is commensurate with experience and qualifications/li/ulpCancer Specialists of North Florida is an EEO Employer and Drug Free Workplace/p/div
