Cost Accountant - 2 Year Contract On behalf of our client, Morgan McKinley is recruiting for a qualified Cost Accountant to join a large operational organisation on a 2-year fixed-term contract. This role will support financial control, reporting, and forecasting activities across multiple cost areas, providing key financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making. This position offers broad exposure across finance operations, strong stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making within a well-established organisation. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to enhance their commercial finance experience in a highly visible role. Key Responsibilities Monitor and analyse operational and overhead costs against budget and forecast. Prepare financial forecasts, variance analysis, and management reports. Review vendor and operational costs to ensure accurate reporting and allocation. Develop and maintain KPIs to support operational and financial performance. Support budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Utilise SAP and Excel to analyse large datasets and deliver accurate reporting. Partner with finance and operational stakeholders across the business. Requirements Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Proven experience in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Strong SAP and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Competencies Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness. Collaborative and adaptable approach.
