Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Operations Control Associate to join our Specialty division, supporting the continued development and delivery of our first line risk framework.

This is a key role within the business, acting as an Operations specialist to ensure effective governance, oversight and control across the division. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the three lines of defence to embed best practice, minimise risk, and drive continuous improvement.


How you'll make an impact
  • Supporting the delivery and enhancement of the first line risk operating model across Specialty
  • Building strong relationships with 2nd and 3rd line teams to ensure effective collaboration and oversight
  • Maintaining and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Monitoring completion of mandatory training and supporting adherence to governance requirements
  • Owning and maintaining process control artefacts, including templates and checklists
  • Conducting quality assurance activities, including file reviews and audits
  • Producing insightful reporting for committees and senior stakeholders
  • Managing risk registers, including tracking actions and facilitating regular reviews
  • Supporting governance frameworks and tools, including product governance processes
  • Leading risk assessments and promoting a strong risk culture across the business
  • Identifying trends, carrying out root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting key projects to ensure appropriate risk assessment and control implementation

About You
  • Experience within operations, risk, compliance, or a middle/back-office environment
  • Strong understanding of operational controls, governance, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience in risk management activities, ideally within insurance, broking or underwriting environments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Highly organised with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Confident presenting and working with senior management
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
  • Strong MS Office skills
Desirable
  • Experience within the insurance or reinsurance sector
  • Professional qualifications (e.g. CII) or working towards
