We are looking for a Counter Sales Supervisor to join our Mayer team in Birmingham, AL!
Summary: The Counter Sales Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the counter sales team provides excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously with their purchases and efficient processing of their orders. Participates in the hiring of new employees, and responsible for training and assigning daily work activities.
What You'll Do:
- Provide leadership and direct supervision to a team of counter sales employees to achieve the highest possible levels of customer service
- Participate in all aspects of hiring new employees. Responsible for training and coordinating daily activities
- In conjunction with the Branch Manager, responsible for the counter sales budget and profitability
- Responsible for driving electrical distribution sales for our counter business and developing new and existing customer relationships
- Responsible for daily restocking, showroom maintenance, and keeping showroom and counter clean and organized
- Stay informed and educated on product knowledge
- May fill in for counter sales employees, other warehouse roles, and make deliveries as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need:
- 5+ years of customer service, sales, branch, or related experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience preferred
- Valid Driver's License
- Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment preferred
- High School or GED - Required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Electrical product knowledge and experience; including lighting, switchgear, controls, and electrical commodities preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of electrical distribution or other electrical sales environments preferred
- Familiarity with automated order entry systems & PCs running Windows-based software
- Ability to manage and understand Profit & Loss (P&L) for the counter budget
- Must be service oriented, self-motivated, dependable, possess excellent leadership skills, and customer service skills
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate on all levels within internal and external groups
- Ability to handle difficult situations and problem solve
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage schedules, prioritize and multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
