divh2Nurse Aide/h2pMust have an active nurse aide certification in the state of Texas/ppShift availability: full time 2pm-10pm/ppPosition summary:/ppThe primary purpose of this position is to assist in the daily activities of our residents./ppOccupational skills:/pulliWork well with residents, resident families and all staff./liliAbility to exercise good judgement and tact in dealing with residents, resident families and staff members./liliGood communication skills/liliGood organizational skills/liliEffective time management/liliAbility to follow written and oral instructions/liliAbility to carry, lift, push, pull and/or move a minimum of 50lbs or more/liliAbility to assist residents with personal care/liliWalking, standing, reaching, turning, pivoting and bending as needed/liliFlexibility in work schedule and assignments as needed/liliMust be able to properly handle bodily fluids/liliAbility to be patient and understanding in stressful situations/liliMust exercise good judgement/liliInitiative to seek proper resources/liliAbility to perform basic vital signs/li/ulpEssential job duties:/pulliAttend mandatory in-service meetings to keep certificate current/liliWork under general direction and supervision of charge nurse and/or department heads/liliHandle and serve residents to assure safety and comfort./liliObserving instructions of nursing staff and performing in line with established routine and scope of practice./liliPractice universal precaution standards/liliDemonstrate working knowledge of proper lifting and transfer techniques along with the demonstration of proper use of total life and stand lift./liliAssist with duties of the resident care plan/liliAssist in customary daily requirements and tasks in care and treatment such as: bathing, feeding, dressing, observing intake of food, care of hair, nails, moving residents from area to area which includes lifting transferring, and supporting residents who may weigh 50lbs or more/liliResponding to resident call lights/liliDetecting and correcting safety hazards in the facility/liliObserving and reporting to charge nurse any symptoms, reactions or changes in residents/liliEncouraging and participating in rehabilitative measures/liliAssist the resident with feeding/liliAssist residents with toileting and elimination needs/liliKeeping residents living areas neat and clean/liliEncourage fluid intake of residents/liliEnsuring residents have adequate refreshments/liliCleaning of supplies and equipment/liliMake up resident beds/liliAssist or provide oral care/liliAssisting in proper positioning to accommodate proper circulation/liliPerform vital signs and report any irregularities immediately to charge nurse./li/ul/div
