Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Design Engineer 1to join our manufacturing engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early‐career engineer eager to apply fundamental engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges. The Design Engineer will support the design, development, and improvement of products, tooling, and manufacturing processes to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities Assist in the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and tooling for manufacturing. Create and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software. Support engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs) and maintain accurate technical documentation. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and maintenance teams to resolve design and production issues. Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, and validation testing. Analyze basic engineering data and assist with root cause analysis for manufacturing issues. Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, specifications, and safety requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cost reduction, quality, and manufacturability (DFM/DFA). Occasional travel may be required to provide on-site product installation support. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 0–2 years of engineering experience (internships or co-op experience preferred). Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly, etc.). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or Creo. Familiarity with GD&T fundamentals. Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and engineering documentation control. Internship or project experience in a manufacturing environment. Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts. Skills & Competencies Analytical and detail-oriented mindset Willingness to learn and accept feedback Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams Strong organizational and time-management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Work Environment Manufacturing plant environment with regular interaction on the production floor. May require use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols. Primarily on-site; occasional overtime as projects require.
