Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description Join a dynamic team dedicated to refurbishing and servicing gearboxes. We seek a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support our team in meeting client demands. The role involves hands-on inspection and engineering work to ensure gearboxes are expertly refurbished and returned to optimal condition. Responsibilities Inspect gearboxes on the shop floor to determine necessary refurbishments. Specify job details and input the Bill of Materials (BOM) into the ERP system (EPICORE). Conduct 3D modeling and 2D sketches using Solidworks, including expanding, extruding, and adding holes to drawings. Perform calculations such as FEA, Load Analysis, and Stress Analysis. Apply GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) to drawings. Spend approximately 50% of the time working in the shop environment. Essential Skills 4+ years of experience with Solidworks. 5+ years of experience in design, manufacturing engineering, assembly/test, field service engineering, or equipment repair. 3+ years of experience with rotating equipment. Experience in detailed design through fabrication. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with assembly production, shaft design, pinning gears, pumps, motors, and bearings. 4+ years of experience with MS Suite. 3+ years of experience with rotating elements such as pumps, turbines, gears, or compressors. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HOUSTON, TX. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
