divh2Physical Therapist Assistant/h2pLocation: Coldwater, MI Shift: Days/ppJob Summary: Administers various physical therapy programs under guidelines established by a Licensed Physical Therapist to facilitate rehabilitation of physically disabled patients, to maximize function and independence. Directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance; facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptations and productivity./ppDuties:/pulliProvides physical therapy treatments, following established plans, under supervision of a physical therapist, taking into account age and educational level, while accurately assessing patients response to treatment, as measured by clinical competencies. Can assist therapist in selective measurements, without interpretation, for evaluation/liliPrepares and maintains accurate patient care records under supervision of therapist/liliMaintains clean and safe work environment to comply with hospital and department safety standards/liliDemonstrates professional work behavior, participates in continuing education and shares information with staff/liliDemonstrates knowledge and ability to advocate, communicate and educate patients of all age groups served including those with physical, emotional, language and cognitive impairments, taking into account age and educational level, as measured by competencies/liliDemonstrates knowledge and skill to utilize equipment appropriately, using correct sizes and following recommendations on specific age-related criteria such as height, weight, anatomical differences and general health status of various age groups served, as measured by clinical competencies/liliMaintains productivity as established by the department/liliMay assist in the supervision of students, rehabilitation aides and volunteers/liliMay participate in program development, identifying performance improvement opportunities, and implementing performance improvement plans/liliPerforms other duties as directed/li/ulpQualifications:/ppEducation: Associates degree in physical therapy from an accredited institution/ppSkills: Must possess skills consistent with the needs of the department./ppYears of Experience: N/A/ppLicense: Current PTA License in State of practice/ppCertification: CPR according to hospital policy/ppPhysical Requirements: The majority of time is spent standing, bending, and providing patient care treatments. Must possess the physical ability and condition to handle patients correctly and safely.
