A high-performing endodontic specialty practice in Atlanta is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Endodontic Dental Assistant to support clinical procedures and ensure an efficient, high-quality patient experience.
This role is ideal for an experienced dental assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, precision-focused environment and is confident assisting with endodontic procedures. The assistant plays a critical role in supporting the doctor, maintaining clinical efficiency, and helping deliver a calm and professional experience for patients undergoing treatment.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and committed to maintaining high clinical and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the doctor during endodontic procedures, including root canal treatments and retreatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for each procedure
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment
- Follow all sterilization and infection control protocols
- Anticipate provider needs during procedures to support smooth and efficient workflows
- Ensure timely room turnover and readiness for the next patient
- Support schedule flow by maintaining preparedness throughout the clinical day
- Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort throughout procedures
- Provide clear post-operative instructions and support patient understanding
- Maintain a calm, professional, and reassuring presence with patients
- Take and process dental radiographs (including PA and CBCT if applicable)
- Accurately chart procedures and maintain clinical documentation
- Ensure patient records are complete and up to date
- Work closely with the front office and clinical team to support daily operations
- Communicate effectively regarding patient flow and schedule updates
- Contribute to a positive, professional team environment
- 2+ years of dental assisting experience (endodontic experience strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and sterilization protocols
- Experience with digital radiography (CBCT experience is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Expanded Duties (EFDA) certification preferred (if applicable in GA)
