This role requires both clinical proficiency and administrative capability, ensuring seamless operations and an exceptional patient experience./ppEssential Duties Responsibilities/ppClinical Duties:/pulliInterview patients and document top complaints, health concerns, and medical history./liliAccurately measure and record vital signs including blood pressure (manual/automatic), temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, height, and weight./liliPerform pre-visit planning and intake procedures./liliAdminister vaccines and injections, ensuring documentation in all applicable systems./liliConduct point-of-care testing: COVID-19, flu, glucose, urine dipstick, PT/INR, etc./liliConduct phlebotomy, prepare laboratory requisitions, and manage specimen collection and transport./liliAssist with EKGs, spirometry, RetinaVue imaging, and other diagnostic workflows./liliMaintain infection control standards including proper use of PPE and disposal of biohazard materials./liliPrepare and sanitize treatment/exam rooms in accordance with safety protocols./liliOperate emergency equipment such as AEDs as needed./li/ulpAdministrative Duties:/pulliSupport providers by prepping encounters in the EMR (e.g., eCW), including documentation setup and chart reviews./liliReconcile medications and assist with prescription refill requests./liliSchedule appointments and manage follow-up coordination./liliPrint and review End-of-Visit Summaries with patients./liliCoordinate referrals and hand-offs to specialists or care coordinators as needed./liliUpdate visit status, verify pharmacy details, and close encounters in a timely manner./liliParticipate in care gap closure efforts by documenting and assisting with HEDIS measures (PHQ-9, COA, fall risk, cancer screenings, A1c, etc.)./li/ulpCare Coordination Patient Engagement:/pulliAssist with appointment confirmations and follow scheduling protocols./liliSupport transportation scheduling when applicable./liliPromote and assist with Patient Portal enrollment./liliMake outreach calls for wellness checks, emergency preparedness, or appointment rescheduling./liliServe as a compassionate advocate for patients, helping them navigate care and recoveries post-hospitalization or urgent care visits./liliCollaborate with front desk and clinical teams to ensure smooth clinic flow./li/ulpOperational Systems Support:/pulliClear telephone encounters and respond promptly to clinical messages./liliMaintain up-to-date e-filing of documentation (within 48 hours)./liliMonitor faxes and EMR Jellybeans and task buckets for timely action./liliUtilize tools such as Availity, state immunization portals, lab portals (LabCorp, Quest), diagnostic/specialist portals, and internal ticketing systems (Cano.Net)./liliUnderstand and support prior authorization processes./li/ulpEducation Experience/pulliHigh School Diploma or equivalent./liliGraduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or Medical Assistant certification./liliActive and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification./liliMinimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant./liliFluency in both English and Spanish is required./liliProficiency with electronic medical records (preferably eCW)./liliAbility to lift, move, and assist patients as needed (Gait training/ADA training recommended)./liliCertification in Medical Translation/li/ulpEducation Requirements/ppRequired/Preferred/ppEducation Level/ppDiscipline/ppRequired/ppHigh School Diploma or equivalent/ppKnowledge, Skills Proficiencies/pulliMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)./liliPower BI and Oracle (expense management)./liliTripMaster or similar transportation scheduling software./liliRingCentral communication platform./liliWorkday (HR/time management platform)./li/ulpBehavioral Competencies:/pulliCompassionate and patient-centered approach to care./liliStrong interpersonal and communication skills./liliTeam player with a collaborative mindset./liliAdaptable, organized, and detail-oriented./liliCommitted to upholding confidentiality, integrity, and quality standards./li/ulpIncentive/ppThis position is eligible to receive a performance bonus each calendar year based upon the Companys achievement of certain financial targets and the achievement of metrics relevant to your position./ppBenefits/ppAt Cano Health, we are convinced that our success comes from our amazing team of associates. The associate is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
