DescriptionYou will research and qualify new business opportunities and work closely with account teams to uncover additional needs (or "white space") within our existing client base. This role bridges sales and marketing meaning you'll not only generate leads and set up meetings for our sales executives, but also support marketing programs by ensuring the right materials and messages reach our prospects and customers. A successful BDR at ECI is more than just a strong communicator they are coachable, curious, and gritty. You'll need to be eager to learn, open to feedback, and relentless in your pursuit of excellence. Every potential customer interaction is an opportunity whether it's a new contact or a long-term client and you will play a pivotal part in boosting top-line revenue growth and helping expand ECI's market presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Proactively research and identify new prospects that fit ECI's ideal client profile. Engage these prospects through cold calls, emails, social media, and networking to generate new sales opportunities.
- Pipeline Management: Nurture interested leads and manage a pipeline of potential clients. Build relationships with warm prospects over time, and set up qualified meetings for sales executives.
- Sales Playbook Optimization: Share insights from your outreach to refine messaging strategies. Be open to coaching and feedback, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Whitespace Analysis & Account Growth: Collaborate with account teams to identify unmet needs within existing clients. Use internal data to uncover cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
- Marketing Collaboration: Integrate marketing campaigns into your outreach. Use marketing collateral effectively and provide feedback on what resonates with prospects.
- Product Knowledge & Customer Needs: Maintain a strong understanding of ECI's offerings. Ask thoughtful questions to uncover client pain points and align solutions accordingly.
- CRM Management & Reporting: Log all activities in Salesforce. Track performance metrics and use data to improve your approach.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Sales Executives, Account Managers, and Marketing. Share best practices and support new team members. A team-first mindset is essential.
- Stay Informed: Keep up with industry trends and competitor offerings. Be prepared to speak credibly about topics like cybersecurity regulations and cloud innovation.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years in sales or business development (B2B preferred). Experience in tech or financial services is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication. Comfortable engaging with C-level executives and IT leaders.
- Coachability & Curiosity: You seek feedback, apply it quickly, and are always looking to improve. You ask smart questions and want to understand the 'why' behind what you're doing.
- Grit & Drive: You're resilient, persistent, and motivated by goals. You don't give up easily and thrive in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
- CRM & Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Salesforce and sales engagement tools. Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SalesLoft, or Outreach is a plus.
- Marketing Alignment: Experience supporting marketing campaigns and using content in outreach.
- Industry Knowledge: (Preferred) Familiarity with financial services or managed IT services. Willingness to learn quickly is essential.
- Team Player: You contribute to team success and support your peers. You bring a positive attitude and professionalism to every interaction.
- Organization & Time Management: You can juggle multiple priorities, follow up consistently, and stay focused on your goals.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in an independent environment with moderate supervision
- Ability to work under a moderate noise level (i.e. working on an open floor with printers, telephones, and computers)
- Ability to travel for business and work beyond normal business hours when necessary
- Ability to be flexible and successfully respond to multiple work pressures
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components
