Job Title: O&M Technician Reporting to: Project Manager Business Unit: Ireland Role purpose The Project Engineer will work closely with the Operation & Maintenance Department and other members of the Ireland Business Unit to ensure the safe, efficient and productive operation & maintenance of a renewable portfolio of projects which is currently expanding. Responsibilities & Duties will include but are not limited to: Represent Omexom professionally in a wide range of project situations with various internal and external stakeholders Assist with managing compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, policy and legislation Assist with programme development and resource planning Co-ordinate O&M activities, resources, materials and equipment Site Inspections & Assessments / End of Warranty Inspections Reactive On-call duties System & Component Failure Investigations / Root Cause Analysis Site Improvement & Optimization Plans Provide technical support to the engineering team, continuously looking for improvement Data Validation Services Develop reports for as required for project reporting Interact with all Client personnel as required to ensure full co-operation on projects is achieved through good interpersonal relationships Assist with all Client interfaces Attend and undertake meetings with clients, contractors and consultants as required Coordination & Management of Sub-contractors; Handheld & Drone IR (Thermography), Vegetation Maintenance, Module Cleaning etc. Work closely with the Commercial Team to manage project costs and income, ensuring commercial targets are met Travel as required to support business requirements Key interfaces Relationships with key stakeholders: Business Unit General Manager Operations Manager Project Manager Project Teams & Colleagues Sub-contractors External stakeholders, e.g. Client, Eirgrid, ESB etc. Person Specification Qualifications and experience The jobholder shall be a motivated self-starter, possessing: Good commercial awareness with ability to monitor and accurately report performance against pre-determined targets A sound working knowledge of electrical infrastructure, Safety Rules, Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 (ROI) Good working knowledge of computers and relevant computer packages including Microsoft office products Exceptional customer focus A willingness to assimilate to our Values Experience and understanding of working within contract terms and conditions Desirable skills and competencies: Degree or HND in relevant engineering or technical discipline Formal Electrical qualifications (QQI Level 6, C&G Inspection & testing etc.) Previous O&M experience in the Management of Renewable Plants Experience in data analysis (PR, Yield, Availability, Production etc.) Familiarization with Solar Module testing techniques (Electroluminescence, Flash Testing, IVCurve testing, UV & IR Inspections) Ability to organise and prioritize their own time and schedule Full RoI Driving License Sound working knowledge of broader electrical networks including distribution systems and associated plant and equipment A passion for renewable energy and a desire to develop new services in the market utilizing new innovative technology Knowledge of civil works would also be an advantage Competencies Required skills, knowledge, and abilities: Organization skills Good communication skills Critical thinking Working well in a team Self-motivation Being flexible Determination and persistence Being a quick learner Good time management Problem solving skills Good working knowledge of Microsoft office package Excellent collaboration and people skills Values In line with Omexom's values, the jobholder must have the following qualities: Team Spirit & Generosity - able to work effectively within and contribute to the Omexom team to deliver results, provide support and drive performance.
