*JOB PURPOSE*: The Test Engineer position is a full-time, exempt position responsible for assessing system and software functionality and developing test cases and procedures to ensure system and software operation. The Test Engineer position is also responsible for the execution of test procedures, both automated and manual tests, generating automated test procedures in one or more relevant languages, and updating, maintaining, and managing the test aspects of the CI/CD pipeline. The Test Engineer will be expected to participate in planning activities and convey accurate and timely status information to other team members and management. When not focused on test activities, the Test Engineer is expected to participate in software development as a software development scrum team member.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
· Develop test plans and procedures.
· Author test cases based on software functionality, high-level requirements, use cases, etc.
· Develop manual and automated test procedures.
· Execute test procedures and collect and report results.
· Analyze and troubleshoot automated test procedures, test equipment, and software under test.
· Report bugs found, troubleshooting steps taken (if any), and steps to reproduce.
· Document all aspects of testing and test process.
· Write high-quality, maintainable software.
· Participate in peer reviews, estimation, and other engineering activities within a collaborative department.
· Implement algorithms to solve complex problems.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
· Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field.
· 3+ years of testing experience.
· 1+ years of software development experience
· 2+ years’ experience working in an Agile Scrum framework
· 2+ years’ experience using and/or administrating Atlassian tools Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
· Familiarity with Government test practices and terms such as DT&E, OT&E, and FAAT
· Experience working with Unix/Linux shell and shell scripts.
· Experience with a computing language (C/C++, C#, Python, or another modern computer language)
· Experience with at least one CI/CD tool like Bamboo or Jenkins
· Experience with at least one test automation suite (such as TestStand) preferred
*COMPUTER SKILLS*
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:
· Experience with at least one test automation tool and/or test suite such as TestComplete, or other.
· Experience with software development IDEs such as Visual Studio, VS Code, or similar.
· Experience with and competency in MS Office suite products.
· Experience with Windows and at least one Linux distribution.
· Sound knowledge of configuration management and the software development life cycle.
· Experience with Git/Bitbucket, Bamboo (or Jenkins), Jira, and Confluence.
· Familiarity with automation tools, scripts, and languages.
· Familiarity with software testing tools.
· Familiarity with containers and virtual machines.
*CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSING*
ISTQB Foundation Level or better (or similar) is preferred but not required.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form. General troubleshooting skills, interpreting schematics and diagrams.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The performance of this position may include exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
