Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a full-time Digital Content Director.
Job Details: Location : F&M Campus - Lancaster, PA Classification : Full-time, Exempt Schedule : 40 hours, Monday - Friday. May require evenings and weekends. Reports to : Vice President of Communications and Marketing Department : Communications and Marketing Approved Salary Range : $80,000.00 - $87,000.00 Job Description:
The Digital Content Director is a senior-level leader and individual contributor responsible for the strategic direction, coordination, and supervision of the College's digital ecosystem. This role oversees all web and social media activities, ensuring a high-impact user experience (UX) and interface (UI) that supports the educational and recruitment missions of the College. The Director decides on the creative direction and technical tone of digital materials while considering the overall marketing strategies of the university. As a supervisor, they manage a team of digital strategists and technical staff to ensure all digital deliverables meet modern industry standards.
Essential Functions:
Assumes artistic and creative control over all digital projects and provides leadership for the digital and social media staff. Directly supervise the Digital Content Specialist, Digital and Social Media Strategist, and part-time Web Developer by delegating tasks and providing constructive feedback. Provide creative design solutions for digital challenges, focusing on website UX/UI to ensure information is easily consumed by target audiences. Oversee the functionality of websites, email marketing, and enrollment CRMs, ensuring cohesive content across various digital sources. Work closely with project managers to ensure digital creative briefs and project scopes meet the expectations of campus stakeholders while remaining on brand. Participate in the design and development of digital recruitment campaigns and provide strategic content for all social media channels. Provide quality assurance by reviewing all digital content and marketing collateral that goes through the division. Protect and store all digital assets according to the department's standard operating procedures. Accurately estimate work hours needed for complex digital projects and manage revisions efficiently to meet deadlines. All other duties as assigned. Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in design, marketing communications, computer science, or a related field; or an extensive portfolio demonstrating multiple years of high-quality digital work. Five years of related experience in digital marketing, web management, or social media strategy. Expert knowledge of digital media, including modern industry-standard tools for website design and social media communications. Demonstrated ability to supervise a technical team, delegate responsibilities, and maintain brand standards while motivating direct reports. Ability to translate complex technical information for diverse audiences. Ability to use institutional software including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and specialized digital marketing/CRM platforms. Ability to stay up to date on relevant media trends and familiarity with the communication strategies of F&M's competitors. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive) Evidence of a commitment to community & belonging. Successful interview. Successful completion of background checks. Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field. Experience in senior-level project management for complex projects involving multiple creative and digital producers. Understanding of how written content integrates with User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design.
Additional Information:
