The Inside Sales Representative provides technical assistance to customers and supports the outside sales team by offering product recommendations, interpreting specifications, and managing the order process. This role focuses on understanding customer applications, preparing accurate quotations, tracking projects, and processing orders to improve the efficiency and satisfaction of the customer base. Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance to customers and outside sales teams to support daily requirements and project opportunities. Make informed product recommendations based on customer applications and technical needs. Interpret plant and material specifications to ensure accurate product selection and application. Secure project take-offs and gather all necessary information to prepare accurate quotations. Prepare detailed and timely quotations, including determining appropriate pricing and margins. Track projects from initial inquiry through completion to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to timelines. Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all details are correct and complete. Follow orders through fulfillment to ensure critical delivery dates are met and communicate status updates as needed. Assist customers with material specifications, take-offs, and application-related questions. Provide solutions to customer applications by leveraging a thorough understanding of products and their uses. Collaborate with procurement and finance departments to support pricing, order processing, and project requirements. Perform outbound calls to support account management, follow up on quotations, and maintain strong customer relationships. Maintain accurate data entry for quotes, orders, and customer information to support efficient sales operations. Essential Skills
Experience in inside sales with a focus on technical products or applications. Ability to provide technical assistance and support to customers and sales teams. Proficiency in making product recommendations based on customer applications and specifications. Strong skills in interpreting plant and material specifications. Experience preparing detailed quotations, including determining pricing and margins. Ability to process and track customer orders accurately from entry through delivery. Competence in outbound calling to support sales and account management activities. Strong data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with procurement and finance teams. Strong problem-solving skills to provide solutions for customer applications. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for working with customers and internal teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Desire and ability to develop a thorough technical understanding of products and their applications. Experience providing technical support for both day-to-day customer needs and larger project opportunities. Familiarity with project take-offs and material specification assistance.
