Adjunct Faculty – American College of Education As an Adjunct Faculty member at American College of Education (ACE), you will maintain a strong academic presence, lead teaching and scholarly activities, and contribute to professional development and service to the profession and the college. You report directly to the department chair who provides guidance on academic and teaching responsibilities, service to students, department, college, and community, and professional development.

Compensation Adjunct faculty are paid per student per course: $50 per student at bachelor’s and master’s levels and $126 per student at doctor’s level. Opportunities exist to serve on paid committees and receive payment for writing and developing courses.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Earned terminal degree in a field associated with the department (ESL/BL, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Literacy, Special Education).
Minimum of 3 peer‑reviewed professional publications and presentations (Doctoral Teaching & Learning).
1+ year(s) of experience teaching in a formal educational setting using both traditional and non‑traditional teaching formats; higher education strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in successfully developing online/virtual professional relationships.
Evidence of professional research and/or creative endeavors and expertise in the field.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; high attention to detail.
Exceptional communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
Self‑motivated and creative in proposing efficient solutions to complex, time‑critical problems.
Collaborative team player who is capable of working independently with limited supervision.
Ability to support and embrace ACE’s Impact mission to improve the people and communities served through civic engagement initiatives.
Student‑centered focus: builds and maintains student satisfaction and anticipates student needs.
Self‑reliance: meets/exceeds workflow needs and follows established processes.
Positive attitude and motivation, concern for students, teamwork, and excellent time‑management skills.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Academic and Teaching Responsibilities
Interact directly with students in a professional manner.
Facilitate a safe and productive learning environment.
Respond promptly to student requests for information, clarification, or personal queries, and contact inactive students as needed.
Oversee course quality by reviewing functionality and content to ensure high‑quality delivery.
Enhance the student experience by integrating personal experience, insights, or other professional knowledge into the course content.
Monitor and provide appropriate feedback on assignments within college policies.
Synthesize and report student performance data in a clear, timeline manner.
Service to Students, Department, College and Community
Support program and institution policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Aid student learning about ethical conduct, including plagiarism and copyright infringement; report infractions appropriately.
Direct students to supplemental resources to enhance their skills.
Collaborate with colleagues and college leadership, including attending required meetings.
Promote the vision, mission, and culture of ACE within and beyond the institution.
Provide appropriate leadership within one’s sphere of influence.
Professional Development
Maintain a professional and technical knowledge of the curricula and industry by participating in leading‑edge educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and engaging in professional societies.
Support and promote research to ensure quality of program and course offerings.
Physical Demands Regular communication with and receipt of communications from students and ACE employees in real‑time using online and other electronic media is required.
