Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BigCommerce Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing e-commerce solutions on the BigCommerce platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to create seamless and high-performing online shopping experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, customize, and maintain e-commerce websites using BigCommerce.
Implement custom themes, templates, and plugins to enhance user experience.
Work with RESTful APIs, Webhooks, and other integrations to extend BigCommerce functionality.
Optimize site performance and scalability for high traffic volumes.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring smooth platform performance.
Collaborate with the design and product teams to deliver user-centered solutions.
Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
Manage and execute platform migrations, upgrades, and new feature rollouts.
Stay up to date with the latest e-commerce trends and BigCommerce updates.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in e-commerce development, with at least 3+ years on BigCommerce.
Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.
Experience with BigCommerce Stencil framework and Handlebars templating.
Knowledge of GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with backend technologies such as Node.js, PHP, or Python.
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Understanding of SEO principles and performance optimization.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with React.js or Vue.js for frontend development.
Familiarity with headless commerce architecture.
Experience working with third-party tools and integrations such as Klaviyo, Google Analytics, or Salesforce.
Certification in BigCommerce development is a plus.
