À propos

About the Company and Position Strata Financial is a fast-growing full-service accountancy firm strategically set to become one of Irelands Top 10 accounting firms by 2028, located across 6 offices in the North East/South East Corridor of the island of Ireland. As the group scales through both organic growth, and integration of other firms, we are now seeking to recruit a hands-on Chief Operating Officer to build the operational engine that allows every office, team and newly acquired firm to perform consistently. This is a role for a practical operator someone who can standardise, integrate, improve and execute. You will own the day-to-day operational agenda, create the systems and controls that support profitable growth, and turn each joining firm into a smoothly integrated part of the wider group. Key Responsibilities Build and embed a consistent group-wide operating model across compliance, audit, accounting, tax, advisory, bookkeeping, payroll and client onboarding. Create clear workflows, file structures, review points, SLAs, quality controls, KPIs, dashboards and management rhythms across every office and service line. Improve utilisation, recovery, WIP, lock-up, write-offs, client throughput and overall operational performance through stronger accountability and better data. Remove duplication, manual processes and operational drag across legacy and acquired offices, replacing them with smarter processes, shared services and technology. Own and rationalise the practice technology stack across practice management, document management, workflow, time and billing, payroll, ID and AML, and client portals. Lead post-acquisition integration through a repeatable -day playbook covering systems, people, clients, processes, premises and brand. Manage systems migrations end-to-end, including scoping, suppliers, data migration, parallel running, cutover, adoption and legacy system retirement, with no service disruption. Work with HR, IT, Finance, Marketing, technical and risk teams to align contracts, roles, benefits, performance frameworks, ways of working, cultural issues and regulatory standards across ICAEW, ACCA, AAT and wider requirements. Track integration milestones, cost-to-serve gains, system savings and synergies, reporting clearly to the CEO, CFO and board. Support M&A diligence by assessing systems debt, process maturity, staffing dependencies, client concentration, operational risk and realistic integration cost. Chair integration governance and advise the leadership team on capacity, pricing, service-line growth and capital deployment. Experience/Requirements Proven experience as a COO, Operations Director, Head of Integration, Head of Transformation or similar within accountancy, professional services, legal, consulting, wealth management or another fee-earning environment. Direct buy-and-build or roll-up experience, ideally PE-backed, with hands-on involvement in at least three completed integrations. Strong knowledge of accountancy practice operations, including compliance workflow, advisory delivery, WIP, lock-up, recovery, utilisation and partner economics. Strong fluency with systems such as Drive, CCH, IRIS, Karbon, Xero, Sage, Dext, BrightPay, Senta, Inflo, FYI, Virtual Cabinet or equivalent platforms. A track record of delivering systems migrations, operational KPIs, dashboards and governance in a partnership or partner-led environment. Relevant third level qualification would be useful, but credibility with partners and acquired-firm principals matters more. Commercially sharp, execution-first, data-led, politically astute, resilient, pragmatic and highly organised under pressure. This is not a strategy-only seat, a deputy CEO role or a polished operating environment. Strata Financial is mid-build, with working, but developing systems, developing processes and a lot more deals ahead. The mission is simple: fix it, scale it, and make every future integration easier and better than the last, and deliver effective excellence. Remuneration Package Highly Competitive Salary and Benefits. Applications Applications should include a CV and a short covering note setting out: (i) two integrations the candidate has personally led, (ii) the operational KPI they are most proud of having moved, and (iii) their view on the most common reason accountancy firm integrations underperform their deal model.
