The Assistant Program Manager Logistics (APML) supports the execution of logistics deliverables and equipment integration efforts for Customer's shipboard systems, with a focus on DHS installations. This role coordinates the development of Logistics Plan, manages subcontractor participation, and ensures compliance with government documentation standards. The APML will also assist with equipment onboarding/offboarding, oversee shipboard installation support activities, and facilitate the coordinated movement of parts and supplies across DHS cutters and staging locations. The position requires close collaboration with Customer, government stakeholders, and internal VLinc personnel to ensure successful delivery of logistics products and operational readiness support. Responsibilities Logistics Plan Development: Lead the creation of a Logistics Plan that supports Operational Availability (AO) targets. Incorporate Customer data, historical practices, and program-specific logistics requirements. Define tasks to support maintenance, supply chain, training, and support equipment infrastructure. Ensure the plan supports long-term sustainment and cost-effective readiness strategies. Installation and Equipment Handling Support: Assist Customer with shipboard installation activities, including scheduling, coordination, and logistical support. Support equipment onboarding and offboarding during system installs, upgrades, or removals. Manage inventory, shipping, and staging activities related to system deployment across multiple cutter locations. Coordinate parts movement with DHS cutter schedules and port availability. Subcontractor Management: Source and manage subcontractors for specific portions of logistics deliverables. Monitor performance, adjust scopes, and negotiate pricing as needed. Collaborate with Customer to ensure alignment on deliverables, cost, and schedule. Maintain a shared understanding of responsibilities, especially for installation support. Communication and Reporting: Provide regular status updates to internal and external stakeholders. Document risks, issues, and mitigation plans. Collaborate across program and technical teams to ensure consistent execution. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering, Program Management, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in logistics analysis, subcontractor management, or government documentation development, preferably within defense programs. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in tools used for technical documentation and logistics management, such as SharePoint, Visio, Excel/Power Bi and MS Office Suite. Familiarity with government logistics systems and processes, including NSN assignment and lifecycle sustainment planning. Work Environment and Conditions This is a remote full-time position, with occasional travel required to Customer, DHS or subcontractor facilities for coordination, reviews, and assessments. The role involves managing multiple priorities and deliverables in a dynamic environment while maintaining a focus on compliance and quality.
