Evening Part-Time Islamic Studies Instructor
Position Title: Evening Part-Time Islamic Studies Instructor Reports To: Program Director / Education Coordinator Location: Remote Schedule: Evening hours, Employment Type: Part-Time Competitive hourly rate. Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Muslim youth. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Islamic Studies Instructor to teach and mentor youth ages 12–18 during evening programs. The instructor will guide students in developing a strong understanding of Islamic beliefs, practices, and values while fostering personal growth, leadership, and confidence. This role requires the ability to connect with teenagers, create an engaging learning environment, and serve as a positive role model. Role Qualifications: Strong knowledge of Islamic studies with ability to teach at youth level (Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, Seerah, Akhlaq). Previous teaching or youth mentorship experience strongly preferred. Ability to connect with teenagers and inspire them through engaging teaching methods. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to uphold professionalism and Islamic values. Proficiency in English (Arabic knowledge a plus). Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Education, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications or Ijazah also valued. Passion for youth development and Islamic education. Culturally competent and sensitive to the needs of diverse Muslim communities. Leadership and mentoring skills. Creativity in lesson planning and curriculum delivery. Patience, empathy, and consistency in dealing with youth. Responsibilities: Teach Islamic Studies curriculum appropriate for middle and high school youth, including Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, Seerah, and Islamic character development. Deliver lessons in an engaging, age-appropriate, and interactive manner. Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment. Support youth in applying Islamic principles to real-life situations (school, friendships, challenges). Incorporate discussions, group activities, and project-based learning to strengthen student participation. Assess student learning through quizzes, discussions, and reflection activities. Maintain communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior when needed. Serve as a mentor and role model, guiding students in leadership, responsibility, and spiritual growth. Attend periodic staff meetings, trainings, and professional development workshops. Support the mission, vision, and values of the institution in all interactions.
