Summary The IT Security Manager develops and implements IT security standards, best practices, and systems to ensure the security of information systems across the enterprise. The role involves auditing, addressing non‑compliance, facilitating migrations to meet security standards, evaluating security applications, participating in IT project planning, and recommending improvements to strengthen security measures.
Responsibilities
Manage the development and delivery of IT security standards and best practices.
Implement processes and methods for auditing and ensuring compliance with information security standards.
Facilitate the migration of non‑compliant environments to compliant environments.
Conduct studies within and outside the organization to ensure compliance with industry security norms.
Manage and participate in security administration planning and implementation for all IT projects.
Evaluate and select security applications and systems.
Recommend and assist in implementing changes to work methods and procedures to enhance security measures.
Ensure the protection of corporate intellectual capital, especially where databases/applications are accessed by customers or vendors.
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 7 years of IT experience with exposure to business planning, systems analysis, and applications development.
Experience managing teams and projects for information security management.
Middle‑level management experience, working under the general direction of senior management.
Experience managing and mentoring supervisors, project leads, and technical staff.
Proven ability to lead multiple complex projects as a project leader and subject matter expert.
Frequently reports to senior positions such as Corporate Security Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Technology Officer, or IT Chief Operating Officer.
