À propos

Who We Are Moniepoint is a global fintech building modern financial services for millions of people and businesses across high‑growth markets. We provide payments, banking, credit, and financial management tools – reliable products that people and businesses use every day to run their lives, grow their companies, and move money safely.
Our mission is simple: to enable financial happiness for every African, everywhere. And this is day one. We’ve grown rapidly in Nigeria and the UK, and we’re now expanding our product, engineering, and analytics teams. Our work ranges from building financial infrastructure to designing intuitive customer experiences for emerging markets – solving real, meaningful problems at scale.
We onboard over a million new customers each month, process hundreds of billions of dollars in payments annually, and support tens of millions of users across our ecosystem. Our teams operate in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment alongside international leaders from companies like Glovo, Bolt, Monzo, Klarna, Checkout.com, and Tide.
We invite you to help us build our data science function from the ground up, work with one of Africa’s highest‑scale fintech data sets, and ship products that influence tens of millions of users – this is an exceptional time to join.
About The Role We’re looking for a strategic and hands‑on Data Science Manager (Marketing) to lead our data initiatives in a high‑growth environment. This role is pivotal in driving our data strategy, fostering a data‑driven culture, and ensuring the robust infrastructure and insights necessary for our continued success as a leading African fintech.
You’ll collaborate with our amazing Marketing team and lead a dedicated data team to help execute our marketing strategy. You’ll be responsible for building and improving our current capabilities while shaping the future roadmap. We’re looking for a hands‑on and data‑driven strategic leader who can bring fresh thinking and inspire both the team and our customers.
Your day‑to‑day
Strategic Leadership: Be a key leader in building a discipline of exceptional data scientists and analysts. Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy – design what world‑class looks like.
Team Building & Management: Hire, develop, and retain a high‑performing team of data professionals.
Experimentation: Champion and drive a culture of rigorous experimentation, including A/B testing, to inform product development and business decisions.
Data Pipeline Ownership: Oversee the end‑to‑end ownership, design, development, and maintenance of scalable and reliable data pipelines.
Data Insights & Analytics – including model development and productionisation: Drive the generation of actionable insights from data to support various business functions, including product, marketing, risk, and operations. How can we build Marketing Mix Models for better channel attribution modelling? What is our actual channel‑per‑channel mCAC? Which customer segments are more/less engaged? What are our customers’ share of wallet – how can we use this?
Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with marketing, product, and engineering managers to ensure we collect the right data for meaningful business insights. Bring data leadership and rigour to our approach to product development. Build a strategic understanding of the business and structure complex projects to bring them to life.
We would love to hear from you if
You have proven experience (typically 8+ years overall and +2 years in management or in data leadership roles), with a strong focus on strategy, execution, and team management. You love coaching and make everyone better.
You’ve expertise in experimentation methodologies and A/B testing frameworks (multivariate, geo‑holdouts, etc., variance‑reduction techniques).
You can create data pipelines (including designing/architecting them – ETL/ELT) – especially using cloud platforms (we use Clickhouse and Bigquery).
You’re confident with data science tools and languages (Python and SQL). You know when to pick the right tool and can help others do the same.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills – you can describe the problem, solve it, and relay it back to a wide array of audiences.
You love working in marketing and using advertising data from platforms such as Facebook.
