Overview Our customer, a global transportation organization, is seeking a detail-oriented CLM Analyst to play a central role in supporting and optimizing its contract lifecycle management platform. This role will be a remote position for 6 months (contract is likely to extend).
Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Analyst Location - Remote
Duration - 6 months
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a primary point of contact for business requestors and legal reviewers, providing timely support and guidance on CLM system usage, process questions, and general contracting inquiries.
Manage and actively monitor support channels (e.g., dedicated chat or alias) to ensure users receive quick, actionable direction and support, especially for critical or complex issues.
Collaborate with engineering or technical teams to track and resolve system-required fixes and some ongoing system improvement tasks, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Process Improvement and Stakeholder Management
Act as the central liaison between the core CLM team and regional legal teams, addressing specific regional issues or needs (e.g., new agreement intake forms).
Identify, collect, and act on ongoing feedback from Business Requestors and Legal Reviewers to inform process and system enhancements.
Coordinate with stakeholders to define, prioritize, and test enhancement requests and new features for the CLM platform before their full release, ensuring quality control and relevance to business needs.
Documentation and Resource Management
Own the ongoing maintenance and accuracy of internal knowledge base pages and related resources (e.g., internal wiki/hub), ensuring all documentation is current and accessible.
Create and publish net-new user resources, guides, and frequently asked questions (FAQs) related to CLM workflows and features.
Manage and prioritize a backlog of improvements or cleanup tasks (e.g., contract template governance) to maintain system integrity and efficiency.
Metadata Extraction & Prompt Engineering
Set up and configure Custom Agreement Types within the CLM platform to accurately categorize different contract classifications.
Design and implement Custom Field Extractions rules and logic to accurately capture key metadata (e.g., dates, values, parties) from contract documents.
Define and configure Custom Obligations Types and corresponding extraction logic to ensure the accurate identification and tracking of contractual commitments. Collaborate with stakeholders to refine AI prompts and configuration settings to improve the accuracy and relevance of AI-driven data extraction.
Conduct iterative testing and tuning of the AI model based on extraction performance metrics.
Rigorously validate results of AI extractions against source documents to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Identify, document, and resolve extraction errors or inconsistencies, providing feedback to improve the underlying extraction models.
Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, extraction rules, and validation processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience in a support, operations, or analyst role, preferably within a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) or similar legal technology environment.
Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly learn and master enterprise software platforms, including CLM systems, and a learning management system.
Communication & Support: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical or complex legal processes into clear, concise guidance for diverse audiences. Demonstrated experience in providing high quality, high-volume user support.
Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize conflicting needs, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with task tracking tools is a plus.
Process Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying system and process gaps, with the ability to propose and implement effective solutions for continuous improvement.
Legal & Contract Knowledge - Basic to intermediate understanding of standard commercial contract terminology (e.g., NDA, MSA, SOW, common clauses).
AI/Machine Learning Familiarity - Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning concepts, specifically in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and data extraction. Experience with prompt engineering or model training/validation is highly desirable.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to effectively work with and influence global, cross-functional teams, including Legal, IT/Engineering, and Business stakeholders.
