À propos
If you have read my JD's before, you already know this. But, if you are new to them, a couple quick things about me. My name is Tom Welke. I am Partner & VP at RSM Solutions Inc. I have been recruiting technical talent (as of January 2026) for 24 years and been in the tech space since the 1990s. I don't say this to gloat, bloat or to say I am this great guy. I say this because I don't use AI to screen resumes for roles like this...I actually read resumes for content and context. So, please be patient with me with reviewing resumes...it may take a couple days for me to get back to you.
As with every role I work on, 'social fit' is going to be pretty important. This role is one where you will be working with external customers of this client. So, that 'presence' that relatively high degree of emotional intelligence will be needed for this role. So, in other words, if you can't really talk to people like a normal human...we probably wont have a fit.
This role is permanent and fully benefitted. This role is being done remotely. However, preference will be given to candidates in the US Central or US East Coast Time Zones.
I can only work with US Citizens or Green Card Holders for this role. I cannot work with OPT, EAD, H1, F1, STEM or anyone that is not already a US Citizen or Green Card Holder for this role. In addition, I am not working with external vendors or 3rd parties for this role. So, for the love of all that is good and pure, do not call 40 times saying you have a 'great candidate on your bench'.
Here is what we are seeking for this role:
The title of this role is 'Senior Solutions Architect'. However, a better way to think of this role is an external client facing Solution Lead. So, if you have had consulting background (perhaps worked at an Accenture, PWC, EY, PWC, that would be up the alleyway of what we are seeking) where you worked with external customers on architecting their SOC & NOC, that would be great. One of the stickier points for this role is that CCIE Certification. We really need that cert for this role to be a success.
You will be seen as the "SME" for management of SOC Services, NOC Services, Cloud Management Services, ITIL, and Service Desk Management. Granted, no one person is going to be an SME in all of these...so, it's ok if you haven't served as an SME in all of these. Most of the companies you will be working with are going to be around 1,000 to 3,000 employees or so. You will be doing most of your work virtually with some occasional travel (10-20%).
Rather than having an exhaustive list of a zillion bullet points in terms of responsibilities & requirements, I will narrow these things down into the real 'meat' (or pork, or fish). I am betting that those reading this who qualify for this role already know the main responsibilities and gotta haves, anyway.
Responsibilities
Working with Practice Leads within this organization to help ferret out opportunities and solutions to those opportunities.
Lead project costing and pricing of services.
Collaboration and coordination with Service Delivery, IT, HR, and Finance stakeholders
SOW Creation
Qualifications
We really need that CISCO CCIE certification (without that cert, we wont have a fit)
If you have a Masters Degree, that would be great...but the world won't fall apart if you don't have one.
Strong Domain expertise in a majority of the following: Managed NOC Services; Managed SOC Services; Cloud Management Services; ITIL; Service Desk Ops; Field Dispatch Support; Dedicated Onsite Support Services; Vulnerability Management; IT & Security Governance.
