We are looking for an experienced Low Voltage
Construction Superintendent (CS)
to join our team. The CS will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to our quality standards. Responsibilities
Safety compliance; supervise craft workers; coordinate subcontractors; scheduling; material handling; daily reporting; quality control; and craft training. Manage installations of low-voltage building systems including communications systems, outside/inside plant cabling, and structured cabling systems. Participate in pre-job planning and develop course corrections as required; maintain project logs; coordinate and schedule all subcontractors; hold weekly scheduling meetings with subcontractors’ foremen. Ensure accurate timekeeping and cost records; monitor cost controls to bring project costs back into budget; expedite vendors and subcontractors as needed. Develop and mentor Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, Engineers, Foremen, and craft personnel; participate in staffing decisions for salaried personnel as needed. Maintain owner relations and participate in Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings; ensure changes to schedule are communicated to stakeholders. Qualifications
Experience managing or overseeing installation of low-voltage building systems; electrical/low-voltage systems experience 3 to 7 years. Supervision of Communications Systems Installation; Outside/Inside Plant Cabling; Structured Cabling Systems Installation. Desirable credentials: BICSI Certified Cable Installer, RCDD – Registered Designer; OSHA 10. Experience includes: Security Systems Integrator; Audio Visual Systems Integrator; Communication System Integrator. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or business; professional accreditations such as DBIA, LEED; PMP or BICSI RTPM recommended. Essential Duties
The following are the primary tasks of the Construction Superintendent, which may be delegated but require close supervision: Safety: ensure safety is included in job planning and execution; promote accountability among staff and subcontractors; enforce policies by active participation in safety-related functions. Quality: own all quality control on the project; address repetitive quality problems with subcontractors or vendors; uphold the company’s high quality standard. Job Planning: develop and implement the pre-job plan; create material handling and site utilization plans. Scheduling: participate to ensure the project schedule aligns with job planning. Mobilization: complete specific tasks as assigned in pre-job planning sessions. Coordinate and supervise all Company work forces; hire/fire hourly personnel under supervision; indoctrinate foremen and hold them accountable. Develop and mentor staff; conduct assessments and provide feedback; define expectations and evaluate personnel; recommend promotions, transfers, or terminations as needed. Coordinate and schedule all subcontractors; conduct weekly scheduling meetings with subcontractors’ foremen. Develop forms detailing special construction methods for efficiency; maintain accurate logs and cost records. Monitor labor costs and controls; initiate changes to bring costs back into budget. Expedite vendors and subcontractors; manage material receiving and inspection; ensure proper receiving tickets and coding. Review equipment needs with supervisor; participate in owner meetings; manage stakeholder communications regarding schedule and conflicts. Be attentive to customer or neighbor requirements to ensure satisfactory relations. Maintain project logs. Work Environment & Physical Demands
Heavy work; up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; up to 50 pounds frequently; up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Frequent walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, stooping, reading, speaking; variable frequency by workflow. Climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, grasping; ability to read blueprints and field measurements.
