Business Development Manager – CPG Lead or execute growth strategies and activities for a current book of customers as well as targeted accounts, market expansion and strategic key accounts as defined and developed. Develop and execute annual and monthly sales plans and objectives for account assignments. Thoroughly understand and consistently communicate Westfall’s Customer Value Proposition. Continually research, network, and prospect within the market segment. Maintain and evolve a database of leads, industry contacts, and competitors for the market. Participate with (e.g., attend conferences) and contribute to (e.g., presenting) relevant trade organizations and publications when applicable. Identify, screen (using established criteria) and qualify opportunities that match Westfall’s strategic plan and vision. Collaboratively work with cross functional teams to develop and present proposals for effective and valued custom plastics solutions. Plan and conduct strategic negotiations with clients, including concession strategies and contract negotiations. Achieve annual sales goals that are consistent with corporate requirements for predictability, profitability, resource availability and strategy. Always maintain a pipeline of new opportunities sufficient to meet a running 12-month revenue goal. Monitor and manage, or participate in managing, relationships with current clients for current programs including business reviews and program change requests. Champion a customer first mindset while promoting innovation, agility and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of eight years of industry experience in business development, strategic planning, financial management, and complex negotiations with Fortune 100 Brands.
Demonstrated and consistent year over year profitable growth driven by both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
Proven success developing and executing go-to-market strategies.
Growth-oriented leader with deep industry knowledge, commercial acumen, and a proven track record in value‑based selling B2B within complex manufacturing environments.
Ability to collaborate across Product Development, Engineering, Tooling, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance and Quality to deliver cost‑effective, profitable and scalable custom molded value add plastics solutions.
Manufacturing experience required, Plastics or Tooling preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field.
Frequent travel up to 50% of the time as required.
