$65.00/hr - $75.00/hr General Information: U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders only Must be on our W2- no C2C, no exceptions Fully remote Key Responsibilities: Process customer requests to add, change, or remove alerting and monitoring configurations. Provide guidance on monitoring best practices and event management standards. Support problem resolution efforts by analyzing current and historical data to identify root causes. Configure, manage, and escalate custom alerting to appropriate teams for rapid issue isolation. Automate tasks and create scripted monitoring solutions for a hybrid cloud environment (cloud, on-prem, and hosted systems). Deliver performance notifications for unexpected events and anomalies outside of baseline thresholds. Qualifications: Required: Strong commitment to security best practices in daily work. 3+ years of experience in related roles. Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS or Azure). Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Shell, Python). Strong knowledge of Linux environments and command-line operations. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience with monitoring tools (Netcool, Nagios, SCOM, TeamQuest, etc.). Familiarity with virtualization technologies. Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, Jira, Confluence, and IT Service Management tools. Description: As an Engineer 2, you will collaborate with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements for infrastructure monitoring and event management. This role involves understanding customer needs, developing high-quality monitoring solutions, and automating workflows to improve operational efficiency. You will evaluate technology effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research, and analysis, making recommendations to enhance quality and performance. Additionally, you will manage the administration and maintenance of monitoring and event management tools. The Event, Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting (ELMA) team delivers insights into the health and performance of IT systems and applications.
