À propos
You’ll be a key operator in Zip, GitLab’s procurement system, and help create a more consistent and efficient experience for internal stakeholders. In your first year, you’ll be expected to strengthen day‑to‑day procurement operations, improve visibility through key performance indicator reporting and spend analysis, and support the business with purchasing needs. This is a fully remote role that requires meaningful overlap with Pacific Time Zone business hours.
What you’ll do
Own the end‑to‑end procurement workflow for lower value, lower risk vendor engagements, with a focus on Marketing Sponsorships, Field Events, and Corporate Events contracts.
Manage procurement intake activities in Zip and keep procurement data current across the enterprise systems used by the business.
Respond to procurement questions from GitLab team members in Slack and guide stakeholders through procurement processes and policies.
Support Procurement Category Managers with request for proposal, request for quote, or request for information events, contract renewals, vendor communications, spend review, bid review, and savings review.
Review spend data to identify consolidation opportunities, assess total cost of ownership, and support more informed purchasing decisions.
Develop and maintain procurement reporting, key performance indicators, and benchmarking in partnership with procurement and stakeholder teams.
Collaborate across divisions to provide timely, clear support that helps business teams navigate purchasing needs in a remote, asynchronous environment.
What you’ll bring
Experience working with a structured procure‑to‑pay or procurement intake system, including hands‑on use of Zip or similar tools.
Experience in procurement or purchasing operations, with the ability to manage process‑driven work accurately and consistently.
Ability to review spend data and create recurring reports that support business decision‑making.
Ability to define, calculate, and present key performance indicators such as purchase order cycle time, savings versus budget, compliance rate, and spend by category.
Skill in supporting internal stakeholders with procurement process questions and explaining requirements clearly.
Strength in organization, time management, and prioritization in a fast‑paced environment with changing needs.
Ability to work with minimal oversight and collaborate cross‑functionally in a remote, asynchronous company while maintaining reliable follow‑through.
Education or equivalent experience in a relevant field, or transferable experience that demonstrates similar capability.
About the team The Procurement team builds efficient, business‑friendly procurement programs that help GitLab manage spend thoughtfully while enabling teams across the company. You’d report to the Manager of Procurement and work across regions in an all‑remote environment to support process efficiency, spend visibility, strategic category support, and vendor management. The team is focused on balancing fast, practical support for the business with clear processes, strong data quality, and better visibility into contracts, reporting, and purchasing activity.
