At Short Story, you will be a part of a high‑velocity engineering team that creates new user experiences, optimizes warehouse and logistics operations, and improves data insights to better serve our customers. We are looking for self‑motivated individuals who enjoy tackling ambiguity and can solve complex problems end‑to‑end.
The Role As an early Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will build internal and customer‑facing services for processing customer orders and establish key design patterns and guidelines for all backend workloads.

Must Haves
5+ years of software development experience, 2+ years of Python experience
Familiar with infrastructure and CI/CD practices
Familiar with the following technologies:
A Python web framework
A testing framework (PyTest preferred)
A cloud provider (AWS preferred)
Containerized workloads (Kubernetes preferred)
Relational database (PostgreSQL preferred) and SQL
Focus on communication and documentation
Familiar with common API and backend testing patterns
Nice to Haves
Worked in a fully remote environment with colleagues from around the world
Test suite/pattern creation and automation experience
Managed an engineering team of 3+ people
Experience with queue/event‑driven systems
Worked in sprint‑based environments with an OKR framework
