The Opportunity We're seeking a
Strategy Analyst
to join our Growth team and play a pivotal role in shaping Legence's strategic direction during this exciting phase of expansion. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of sustainability, technology, and high-growth market dynamics in a newly public company backed by one of the world's leading alternative asset managers.
As a Strategy Analyst, you'll work directly with the VP of Growth and cross-functional leaders to identify market opportunities, analyze competitive landscapes, drive strategic initiatives, and inform critical business decisions that accelerate our mission to transform the built environment.
What You'll Do Strategic Analysis & Market Intelligence
Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis across our key verticals (data centers, life sciences, healthcare, education, semiconductor, biopharma)
Identify emerging trends in sustainability, energy efficiency, and building performance that create growth opportunities
Analyze industry regulations, policy changes (e.g., IRA incentives, climate mandates), and their implications for our business strategy
Build financial models and business cases to evaluate new market entry, M&A opportunities, and organic growth initiatives
Business Development Support
Support the development and refinement of our go-to-market strategies across different customer segments
Analyze win/loss data and customer feedback to identify patterns and strategic insights
Develop competitive intelligence frameworks and maintain ongoing competitor tracking
Partner with sales and marketing teams to translate strategic insights into actionable growth initiatives
Strategic Initiative Management
Lead cross-functional strategic projects from conception through execution
Develop presentations and executive briefings for senior leadership and board meetings
Track and report on key growth metrics, KPIs, and strategic initiative progress
Support the integration of recent acquisitions and identify operational synergies
Data-Driven Decision Making
Build dashboards and analytical frameworks to monitor business performance and market dynamics
Synthesize complex data from multiple sources into clear, actionable recommendations
Develop scenario analyses and sensitivity models to support strategic planning
Partner with finance, operations, and business unit leaders to drive data-informed strategies
Leverage AI and LLM tools to accelerate research, automate analysis, and uncover insights from large datasets
Design and implement prompt engineering workflows to enhance team productivity and analytical capabilities
Who You Are Required Qualifications
Proximity to a Legence office is preferable
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related field
1-2 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or high-growth startup environments
Strong knowledge of AI technologies, Large Language Models (LLMs), and prompt engineering techniques
Demonstrated experience applying AI/LLM tools to enhance analytical workflows, automate research, or drive strategic insights
Exceptional analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, and data visualization tools
Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis capabilities
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to executive audiences
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter mentality with intellectual curiosity and a bias toward action
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree in a related field
Advanced experience with generative AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) and AI-powered analytical tools
Experience building custom GPTs, AI agents, or automation workflows using LLM APIs
Experience in the construction, engineering, sustainability, or energy sectors
Familiarity with MEP systems, building performance, or mission-critical facilities
Knowledge of ESG frameworks, carbon accounting, and sustainability reporting
Experience with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytical tools
Prior experience at a recently public or high-growth company
Understanding of private equity portfolio company dynamics
