À propos

As our Forward Deployed Engineer, you are the person who makes pilots succeed. You will be on-site, embedded at utilities and industrial facilities, deploying units, integrating into real operator workflows, and building the functional field solutions that prove value fast.
This is not a support role. You will work directly with the founding team and our ML Engineer, and over time you will own the direction of our software product development. You are also the feedback loop, translating what you see on the ground into the product insights that shape what gets built next.
You will be based in Hannover with regular travel to pilot sites across Germany, and potentially the UK, Spain.
*Responsibilities*
* Deploy and integrate our sensor hardware units at pilot sites, owning the full process from installation to operator onboarding.
* Build functional field integrations quickly: scripts, API connections, rough dashboards, whatever it takes to make the technology work in a specific operational environment.
* Be the single point of contact for pilot operators, the person they call when something is not right
* Develop a deep understanding of how operators actually work and where the real friction is, then bring that back as structured product signal
* Feed the product discovery loop: translate field observations into abstracted problems that the product team can build against at scale
* Support the software platform launch and hardware ramp with real data, operator insights, and deployment learnings
*Qualifications*
* Engineering background, Computer Science, Environmental Engineering, Physics, Bioengineering, or similar. Or technical background in the water/wastewater industry.
* Demonstrable build experience: something functional built under real constraints, however rough
* Technically capable enough to configure, debug, and integrate a hardware-software system independently
* Strong communicator: clear written documentation, confident in front of operators and executives alike
* Fluent in German and English
* Comfortable with potential international travel to pilot sites across Europe w
*Bonus Qualifications*
* Experience in wastewater, industrial bioprocessing, or environmental technology
* Familiarity with MLOps, data pipelines, or IoT systems
* Background in live cell imaging, medical imaging, or industrial sensing
*What We Offer*
* Salary: €45–55K (Fixed based on experience) + equity options
* Flexibility: Hybrid working model based in Hannover, with regular travel to pilot sites across Europe.
* Ownership: Direct responsibility for pilot success and a clear path to leading software product development as the company scales.
* Professional Growth: Direct access to founders and the opportunity to grow into a leadership role as we scale the team and access to upskilling resources.
* Health: We want you to be the best version of yourself and will try to support this as best as we can. Let us know what perks and benefits you would like to see.
