À propos
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to support and enforce quality standards on large-scale, ground-up data center construction projects in the South Chicago region. This role requires deep expertise in MEP systems, mission-critical infrastructure, and high-performance construction standards, with the ability to ensure all work meets design specifications, industry codes, and operational requirements. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in North America; visa sponsorship is not available. Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and enforce the project's Quality Assurance and Quality Control plan across all phases of ground-up construction. Verify the quality of site development, civil work, foundations, structural steel, envelope systems, and architectural finishes. Conduct ongoing inspections to ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications, and industry standards. MEP & Mission-Critical System Quality Oversight
Oversee QA/QC for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations, with a focus on mission-critical reliability and redundancy. Inspect high-voltage electrical distribution, generators, UPS systems, cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water loops, BMS integration, and related infrastructure. Ensure proper installation practices, torquing, testing, labeling, grounding, and equipment startup procedures. Verify that all MEP systems meet commissioning requirements and are fully ready for integrated testing (IT, IST). Documentation, Testing & Compliance
Maintain detailed QA/QC documentation including test reports, inspection logs, deficiency lists, and corrective action records. Review and validate submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and installation procedures for completeness and compliance. Support commissioning teams by ensuring systems are installed per design and ready for functional performance testing. Ensure adherence to building codes, standards, manufacturer requirements, and project specifications. GC & Subcontractor Quality Coordination
Work closely with General Contractors and key subcontractors to enforce quality standards and resolve deficiencies quickly. Lead quality-focused walkthroughs and coordinate rework when deviations are identified. Coach trades and GC teams on quality expectations, best practices, and corrective actions. Risk, Safety & Continuous Improvement
Identify systemic quality risks and recommend proactive solutions to prevent recurring issues. Support the safety team with quality-related safety compliance, especially on complex MEP installations. Promote a culture of quality and accountability across all site operations. Client & Stakeholder Interaction
Provide clear, detailed quality reports, punch-list updates, and readiness assessments to internal stakeholders and client teams. Participate in OAC meetings, commissioning meetings, and schedule reviews from a quality standpoint. Qualifications
5–10+ years of QA/QC experience in large-scale ground-up data center, mission-critical, or high-tech industrial construction. Strong technical expertise in MEP systems, including electrical distribution, mechanical cooling, and associated infrastructure. Proven experience working with General Contractors and specialty trades on complex builds. Deep understanding of construction standards, testing procedures, commissioning requirements, and documentation processes. Strong communication skills and the ability to drive quality across diverse teams. Hands-on field presence with the ability to manage multiple inspections daily. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in hyperscale or multi-phase data center programs. Knowledge of quality management systems, commissioning processes, and third-party inspection workflows. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, or other construction QA/QC platforms. Why Apply?
This is a unique opportunity to shape the quality, performance, and reliability of ground-up, mission-critical data center builds in the Chicago market. If you're passionate about technical excellence, meticulous installation standards, and ensuring world-class infrastructure performance, we'd like to hear from you.
