THE WORK

Do you like to do the exact same thing every day? Neither do we! Every day is different.

We are looking for a Director of Operations who Turns your expectations into systems, vision into structure, chaos into process and “we should” into “we did”. This new role will be pivotal senior leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operational functions. The Director of Operations will drive efficiency, productivity, and profitability, ensuring seamless integration of processes, resources, and teams to support the companies' growth objectives and commitment to client satisfaction.


Operational Leadership:

Develop and implement strategic operational plans and policies that align with the overall business objectives and growth strategies.

  • Translate company vision into actionable operational strategies, setting performance metrics, timelines, and resource allocation plans.
  • Lead the integration and optimization of operational processes.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management, department supervisors and staff to identify and address operational challenges, recommending and implementing innovative solutions for continuous improvement.


Management & Efficiency:

Oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring efficient management of resources, including personnel, equipment, and facilities.

  • Optimize workflows and processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and quality across all projects and departments.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and reports to track operational performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance overall organizational effectiveness.


Financial Oversight & Resource Allocation:

Work closely with and oversee the finance team to develop, manage, and monitor operational budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and financial strength.

  • Analyze financial reports to identify areas for cost savings and revenue generation, implementing strategies to optimize operational spending.
  • Oversee resource allocation for projects and internal initiatives, ensuring appropriate staffing and equipment are available.
  • Conduct monthly accounting and finance meetings regarding the health of the organization for Sr. Management.
  • Contribute to forecasting future financial needs and planning for sustained growth.


Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, mentor, and motivate operational team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

  • Oversee and collaborate with Human Resources to recruit skilled talent, establish performance systems, and maintain a trusting, and productive work environment.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and communication to enhance team synergy and project delivery.
  • Oversee and collaborate with Health & Safety to ensure COR, company policies, safety standard guidelines across all operations.
  • Oversee and collaborate with the Inventory Manager and Warehouse Managers to ensure operational processes, material flow, and inventory controls align with project demands and company performance objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cross-functional coordination between warehouse and field operations.
  • Oversee and collaborate with administration staff in supporting of the daily operations of the organization through processes.


THE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of operational leadership experience in construction or related industry.
  • Proven track record of operational success, driving efficiency, productivity, and profitability in a multi-faceted organization.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage relationships at all levels.
  • Masterful organizational skills and the ability to manage projects and multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Advanced skills in strategic planning, resource management, business analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of job costing and operational finances for construction
  • Demonstrated success implementing process improvements, software improvements and integrations
  • Structured, decisive, and self-directed 
  • Experience with Procore and Jonas is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to travel to various office locations as required.
  • Live and able to work in Ontario, Canada
