International Boundary Security Specialist

As a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO), you will be part of our 60,000+ workforce that strives to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity.

You will be responsible for enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. Your duties may include conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances as well as determining admissibility for entry into the United States.

In addition to your core responsibilities, you may also participate in preventing illegal entry of individuals or prohibited goods including smuggling of drugs or contraband. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills coupled with excellent communication abilities.

To qualify for this position at the GS-5 grade level requires one year full-time general work experience demonstrating ability to meet people needs with an aptitude to learn new things.
Alternatively,
you could have Bachelor's degree from accredited institution without additional experience required . For
GS-7,you would need previous specialized experience demonstrated through decision making under pressure,followed by superior academic achievements if education based upon performance record.Based on particular education requirements,a graduate study equates highly relevant professional knowledge needed.
