Hey I am looking for a creative video editor with meticulous attention to detail to produce cinematic mini documentaries and high engagement Shorts. My channel focuses on nature's mysteries and eerie natural phenomena. I need a storyteller who understands how to build tension in a faceless format, maintain viewer attention, and crucially, craft viral hooks that stop the scroll on both long form and short form content. Most videos will be less than 10 minutes. However, for the first few videos, we will be focusing on a tighter format of less than 5 minutes to establish the channel's pacing. Please name your favourite fruit at the beginning of your proposal to filter out spam.
Workflow: I provide the script and a voiceover. You will edit the voiceover (cutting takes, adjusting pacing), handle the visual assembly, manage sound design, and create "killer" short form content from the main edit.
Your Responsibilities:
- Narrative Faceless Editing: Assemble long form videos, managing pacing by adding or eliminating pauses to perfect the flow and tension.
- Audio Optimization: Use compressors and limiters to ensure the voiceover is punchy and professional. You must ensure all audio levels are perfectly optimized for YouTube standards.
- Visual Sourcing & Grading: Source high quality, cinematic stock footage. You must apply professional color grading or use LUTs to match the eerie storytelling vibe of the video. All assets must be copyright cleared for monetization.
-Immersive Sound Design: Build an atmospheric experience using layers of SFX.
-Pattern Interrupts: Use zooms, text overlays, and transitions to maintain high retention.
-Strategic AI Use: Use AI video/image generators sparingly only for "impossible" shots we cannot find in stock libraries to enhance the storytelling.
Requirements:
-Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or After Effects.
-Any motion graphics or animation expertise is a plus but not required.
-Proven experience editing faceless YouTube videos where visuals and sound design carry the story.
-Ability to take creative feedback non personally to ensure we get the look of the first video exactly how I envision it.
-Note: I am a video editor myself, so technical quality and attention to detail will be looked at very closely.
-Ability to extract and re-edit the most compelling segments into 9:16 Shorts with "killer hooks" that drive views and subscribers.
Goal 1 horizontal video, 2 shorts per week
Contract duration of more than 6 months.
