About the Role
This position requires a highly skilled and dedicated individual to work as a Border Patrol Agent. The primary responsibility is to secure our nation's borders, detecting and preventing illegal activities while protecting American communities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in law enforcement or military law enforcement. This may include physical searches, apprehending violators, proficient use of firearms, preparing investigative reports, serving court orders, gathering evidence for criminal cases prosecuted through the court system.
- Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.
- Preventing and apprehending aliens at or near borders using surveillance techniques.
- Capturing tracks, marks, or other physical evidence of illegal entry into persons or contraband.
Benefits The U.S. Customs and Border Protection offers competitive salary ranging from $63, 480 - $120, 455 per year based on duty location pay rates plus up to 25% overtime pay. A fully trained BPA may be eligible for an additional up to 25% base pay under the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014 with opportunities for career advancement.
