Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Supply Chain Buyer to support our strategic supply chain initiatives. This role is responsible for managing raw material procurement, inventory levels, and supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing or operations environment.
Responsibilities
- lan and execute procurement of raw materials from global suppliers.
- Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams.
- Monitor open purchase orders and proactively communicate risks that may impact material availability.
- Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment to meet supply and demand requirements.
- Analyze and maintain MRP material master data and planning parameters.
- Support inventory management initiatives including reporting, reduction, reserves, and product life cycle management.
- Manage supplier RFQs, cost-saving initiatives, performance evaluations, and documentation.
- Support new product launches and special supply chain projects.
- Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes and metrics reporting.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and shipment data within the MRP system.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of buying or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Working knowledge of MRP systems and inventory planning concepts.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance short-term and long-term demands.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective negotiation and supplier management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS CPIM / CSCP or CPSM certification (completed or in progress).
- Experience working with global suppliers.
- Familiarity with S&OP processes and inventory optimization initiatives.
