Food Runner

Job summary

Chocolat seeks an energetic, detail-oriented Food Runner with restaurant floor experience to join our front-of-house team. You'll support servers and kitchen staff by delivering food quickly and accurately, maintaining service flow, and ensuring guests receive a polished dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver dishes from kitchen to tables promptly and accurately.

• Coordinate with servers and expo to prioritize orders and manage timing.

• Polish and plate simple garnishes or finishing touches as directed.

• Maintain station cleanliness and restock service items (silverware, napkins, condiments).

• Assist bussing and clearing tables between courses when needed.

• Communicate guest requests, allergies, and special instructions to the kitchen.

• Support opening and closing tasks, including side work and basic prep.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years as a food runner, server assistant, or similar in a fast-casual or fine-dining environment.

• Skills: Strong communication, fast pace, ability to carry multiple plates, and attention to detail.

• Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety and allergy protocols.

• Physical: Able to stand and walk for long shifts and lift up to 25 lbs.

• Attitude: Team player, professional, guest-focused, and punctual.

• Certifications: Food handler card preferred but not required.

Schedule and compensation

• Shifts: Day, evening, weekends and holidays availability required; flexible scheduling available.

• Compensation: Competitive hourly rate plus tips; exact pay based on experience.
