About The Role
The Lead Business Systems Analyst at Centene Corporation plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions. This position involves leading strategic collaborations across cross-functional teams to understand, analyze, and translate enterprise-level business requirements into scalable, high-quality technical specifications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering, validating, and documenting requirements, creating detailed models and diagrams, and ensuring that project deliverables meet business objectives. Additionally, they will oversee the entire lifecycle of requirements, coordinate user acceptance testing, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The role demands a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The Lead Business Systems Analyst contributes significantly to the development and enhancement of systems that support operational efficiency and improved health outcomes for members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related field such as statistics, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related roles
- Experience with data processing and analysis
- Knowledge of healthcare payer business functions and operations
- Understanding of Agile Software Development and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Technical aptitude with familiarity in system modeling, documentation, and reporting tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with requirements gathering, validation, and documentation
Responsibilities
- Gather, validate, and analyze business and technology requirements to define project scope, impact, and success metrics
- Translate conceptual user requirements into clear, functional specifications for development teams
- Create system and business process models, diagrams, and documentation to guide development and implementation
- Interpret user needs into feasible technical solutions and communicate options to stakeholders
- Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, updating and redefining as necessary
- Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business needs
- Monitor service levels by reviewing and ensuring adherence to SLAs with the IT and business teams
- Review and improve existing requirement gathering processes for efficiency and effectiveness
- Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures, manuals, and documentation
- Provide user support through documentation, training, and help desk assistance
- Prepare technical reports by analyzing data, identifying trends, and summarizing findings
- Collaborate with internal teams to design scalable, effective systems that align with business objectives
- Translate business needs into product backlogs, user stories, and functional requirements to maximize application value
- Participate in project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure timely and quality outcomes
- Perform other related duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards
