Job Summary
This position is located in the Contract Administration Division, Office of the Deputy Director for Management Support, DC Department of Corrections (DOC). The incumbent serves as liaison on issues/problems of a Contract Administration/ requisition nature, ensuring that such work is being accomplished effectively allowing the Supervisory Contract Administrator to concentrate on more oversight and management work. Serves as point of contact for individuals within the agency seeking services, assistance or guidance in the areas of an acquisition nature.
The incumbent will assist the supervisor and senior management with acquisition activity for the Department. Identifies discrepancies, such as lack of funding or unusual problem areas while making appropriate recommendations for resolution.
Duties And Responsibilities
Serves as liaison between subordinate offices in maintaining an orderly flow of information regarding requisition documentation. Performs an on-going review of the requisitions and purchase orders under their purview and identifies any discrepancies, lack of funding or unusual problem areas while making appropriate recommendations for resolution.
Consults with program managers regarding the purpose and specifications associated with their purchase request. Ensures that all request is supported by required approval documentation. Creates, modifies, and submits requested requisition by entering commodity or service specifications and requirements into the District's electronic procurement system (PASS). Works with the Office of Chief Financial Officers (OCFO) to verify funding availability and obtain required funding attributes.
Qualifications And Education
Specialized Experience:
Specialized experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled. To be creditable, applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the line of progression.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must possess and maintain a valid drivers' license.

Position Designation
: This position is designated as Security Sensitive and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and periodic Criminal Background Checks. This position is also subject to mandatory pre-employment drug testing.
Residency Requirement:
Applicants claiming "Residency Preference" will be required to maintain residency in the District of Columbia for a minimum of seven (7) years. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of employment.
