*Responsibilities*
* Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess visual acuity, eye health, and overall ocular function.
* Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and refractive errors.
* Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and medications as appropriate to meet individual patient needs.
* Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
* Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective devices to promote long-term ocular wellness.
* Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for complex cases requiring specialized intervention in ophthalmology or pediatrics.
* Stay current with advancements in optometry, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding to ensure best practices are followed.
*Skills*
* Strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles, anatomy of the eye, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to eye care.
* Experience working with optical equipment and understanding of optical principles for fitting lenses and contact lenses.
* Proven ability to deliver excellent patient care with compassionate customer service skills.
* Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient documentation.
* Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to safeguard patient information at all times.
* Ability to perform vital signs assessments when necessary as part of comprehensive patient evaluations.
* Competence in aseptic technique during examinations and procedures to prevent infections.
* Sales skills for recommending appropriate optical products while maintaining a focus on patient needs.

Pay: $110,843.13 - $133,488.50 per year
