Automotive Service Advisor

Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers requiring vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless experience from intake to service completion. This role involves coordinating with technicians, providing accurate estimates, and promoting additional services to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership profitability. Prior dealership experience and automotive service management skills are highly valued for this position.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a welcoming environment
• Assess customer vehicle needs through effective communication and diagnostic understanding
• Write detailed service orders and estimates, including auto estimating and service writing
• Coordinate with production team to ensure timely completion of repairs such as oil changes, brake repair, transmissions, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, alignments, and auto body repairs
• Upsell additional services based on vehicle diagnostics and mechanical knowledge
• Manage customer inquiries regarding vehicle status and explain repair procedures clearly
• Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the service department

Qualifications

• Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management preferred
• Strong automotive diagnostics knowledge along with mechanical understanding of vehicle maintenance and repairs such as oil changes, transmission work, suspension, tire services, diesel engines, brakes, shocks & struts, alignments, and auto body repair
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients
• Experience in auto estimating, service writing, auto sales, and upselling is advantageous
• Familiarity with mechanic work or service technician experience is a plus
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
• Automotive repair knowledge including transmissions, oil changes, auto body repairs, air brakes, alignments, suspension systems, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake systems is highly desirable
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple customer accounts simultaneously

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
