Under the general supervision of the Assistant State Printer, the Printing Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for supervising, planning, and assigning the work of the printing plant's mechanics and electricians. This role also involves developing specifications for machine modifications in the Machine Shop unit. All tasks must be conducted in accordance with the guidelines established by the Department of General Services (DGS), the Office of State Publishing (OSP) operations manual, the Government Code, the California Code of Regulations, and the State Administrative Manual.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for a visa sponsorship or a training plan, now or in the future.
