Job Summary
We are seeking 2 medical assistants willing to work a day shift (9am-6pm) and an evening shift (12pm-9pm). Medical assistant must be willing to work in a fast paced environment. Must be organized and be bilingual. Must be able to type at least 40wpm as all records are transcribed.
Duties
- Greet and assist patients during intake, including collecting vital signs and updating medical histories
- Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and injections following proper protocols
- Operate EHR systems efficiently for documentation of patient information, ICD coding, and medical records management
- Support physicians with diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging or other laboratory tests
- Assist with patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care
- Perform basic life support (BLS) as needed during emergencies
- Manage patient flow in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers, PICU, or Geriatrics units
- Support hospital medicine teams with documentation and administrative tasks related to patient care
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols in all clinical activities
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or hospital settings; clinic experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical-surgical procedures
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement, specimen collection, and basic diagnostic tests such as X-ray or other imaging techniques
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications in emergency medicine or trauma center procedures are a plus
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations including Geriatrics and Pediatrics (PICU)
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices including inpatient care and Level I/II trauma center protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as urgent care clinics or emergency departments
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and administrative support tasks
