If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of others, please apply. This position is meant to aid adult members of our community who have ASD. Besides basic care assistance, members of our team provide mentorship, coaching and companionship, aiding the growth and development of our clients.
To be eligible for this job please have the following requirements:
· Be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to provide required documents
· Have means of transportation and clean driving record
· High School Diploma or GED
· Be able to pass a background check
· While experience in personal is preferred it is not required
· Be ready to make a difference in the lives of others
· While it is not required, experience with ABA and Behavior Modification is preferred.
Responsibilities of the position are as follows:
· Careful and complete adherence to the Individual Plans/Treatment Plans/Behavior Plans, as written.
· Conduct and maintain a positive and professional demeanor with participants, and families.
· Set a positive example and environment for individual to follow and foster a professional relationship with the individual, based on mutual respect and trust.
· Recognize and report changes in behavior of individual to the appropriate staff as soon as possible.
· Provide opportunities to help participants meet their goals.
· Protect the confidentiality of individual at all times.
· Accompany Individual to appointments or activities as instructed.
· Participant interaction required - (for activities, conversation, teaching of daily living skills)
· Be physically able to assist in lifting (75 pounds) and able to place items on higher shelves without restriction.
· Complete all documentation a prior to the end of your shift. Document all activities through progress notes and data collection as outlined within the individual treatment plan. Complete any incident reports as required.
· As required, participate in meetings ( PCP and interdisciplinary)
· Assist participant in shopping and meal preparation, If applicable.
· Coach individual to maintain daily bedroom cleanliness
· Help organize, facilitate, and participate in recreational, leisure, and social activities during assigned hours.
· Participate in required and voluntary training relevant to the field of developmental disabilities.
